The World of Comics Stamps planned for issue in March 2012
The comics and the storyline characters being featured in this stamp issue will be:
- The Dandy: featuring Desperate Dan
- The Beano: featuring Dennis the Menace
- Eagle: featuring Dan Dare
- Topper: featuring Beryl the Peril
- Tiger: featuring Roy of the Rovers
- Bunty: featuring The Four Marys
- Buster: featuring the Hugh McNeill version of Buster
- Valiant: featuring The Steel Claw
- Twinkle: featuring Twinkle
- 2000AD: featuring Judge Dredd
Some comic experts may be surprised by the claim that the issue celebrates "75 Years of British Comics". Most comic experts and collectors will tell you that British comics have been in existence for far more than 75 years - over 120 years in fact - so we assume Royal Mail mean to say they are celebrating British comics from the past 75 years.
