Norvic Philatelics Offering the Machin Centenary Post and Go Sets for £10
Update (27/12/2011): It appears the full sets of the Arnold Machin Centenary Post & Go stamps at £10 each have now sold out at Norvic Philatelics but, at the time we checked, indivisual 1st Class stamps were still available at £1.50 each and First Day Covers bearing Stampex postmarks for the full set and 1st Class value.
The full sets were previously available at £12.50 from Rushstamps but, when we checked today, they are now priced at £14.50 (27/12/2011).
Rushstamps have also listed twenty Machin Centenary Post & Go Sets on eBay at £14.50 with a free 2000 Stamp Show "Her Majesty's Stamps" Miniature Sheet.
Recent publicity from Rushstamps claimed that less than 3,000 sets of these, the first ever commemorative Post and Go stamps, were issued during Stampex. Being very bullish about the future philatelic significance of Post and Go material I can't help think an issue of 3,000 sets is a very small number. I'm therefore convinced these Arnold Machin centenary Post and Go stamps will become increasingly difficult for collectors to find and acquire in future.
So, having caught a tweet from Ian Billings at Norvic Philatelics yesterday which mentioned new Post and Go material had been posted for sale on his website, I thought I would take a look. I found they have listed sets of the Machin Centenary Post and Go stamps at a very competitive price of just £10 (Rushstamps recently offered sets at a 25% higher price qualified with "while stocks last"). You can see the Norvic Philatelics sales page here.
During Stampex there were four machines used to produce these Arnold Machin Centenary sets numbered 91-94 (the 9 denotes it was September and the 1-4 indicates the specific Hytech machine). The Hytech machines were also busy issuing the latest Birds IV Post and Go stamps during Stampex meaning the production of the Machin centenary stamps was mostly carried out by machine 91 (public use) and 94 (behind the counter). As I write, Norvic Philatelics are offering sets produced by both machines 91 and 94 at the same £10 price.
Apart from the Machin Centenary stamps, Norvic Philatelics have also listed various other Post and Go offers at very fair prices too so, if you need to make a start building your Post & Go collection, visiting Norvic Philatelics should prove very worthwhile.
