Exhibition: History of Slavery and Abolition On Postage Stamps

The exhibition - part of London 2010: Festival of Stamps - allows visitors to view postage stamps from around the world that have been used to highlight key figures, trends and events from the history of slavery and the process leading eventually to abolition.

The exhibition runs until 30th June 2010 in the Sugar and Slavery Gallery of the Museum of London Docklands, West India Quay, Canary Wharf, London. E14 4AL (tel: 020 7001 9844) email:

Accompanying the events is "Stamps of Freedom", a tour of a post abolition display with Nigel Sadler who discusses the representations of enslavement and abolition found in his commemorative stamp collection from around the world. More information is available at the Docklands Museum Website.
