This aircraft made 273 flights of which 168 involved breaking the Sound Barrier and the maximum speed ever achieved by G-AXDN was Mach 2.23 (about 1,450MPH. This test airframe was eventually retired to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in 1977 where it remains on display to the public.

Readers wanting to obtain examples of this postmark can obviously expect an official cover to be produced by the sponsors or submit their own stamped covers to the Royal Mail's Wales & The West Special Handstamp Centre in Cardiff.
