Autumn Stampex Post & Go Stamp Suggestions

The first Post & Go commemorative marked the centenary of Arnold Machin's birth and the second, quite predictably this year, commemorated Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee. Personally I think the stamp world will feel exhausted if another Olympic or Paralympic Games issue emerges so what event, person or anniversary would you suggest Royal Mail considers?

My nominations for the short-list are:

2012 is the Centenary year of the formation of the Royal Flying Corps. The RFC was formed in 1912 and represents the start of our proud military aviation history in the UK. The RFC would later merge in to the newly formed Royal Air Force in 1918. In my view this centenary merited more recognition by Royal Mail when I look at some of the other stamp issues they've chosen to issue this year.

Staying with aeronautical subjects, 2012 also marks fifty years since Great Britain and France signed the agreement to jointly develop Concorde.

Music lovers might like to see a commemoration of 50 years of The Rolling Stones who first performed publicly in 1962 or 50 years since the release of the first single by The Beatles.
